Mexico's Traditional Cattle Auction

Welcome Amigo!

Mark your calendars! The 20th Traditional Sale will take place on Wednesday, January 31, 2007 on the grounds of the Calavera Ranch near Tampico, Mexico.

The Americus ranch was founded by our late father, Marcos Americus in 1936 using stock from the Brahman herds developed by Runnells Pierce, Vernon Frost, Otis Cox, Henry Koontz, and T. Kimball. Cattle from J.D. Hudgins has played a mayor role in the development of our herd since its beginnings till today. In 1986 we imported several bulls from Florida, from the Sugarland and Tucker herds, which when breed to the Manso based herd we had gave us outstanding results.

Over the past 68 years, the Americus brand has gained national and international respect for producing high quality registered Grey Brahman cattle. The first ever Grey Brahman bull ever exported out of Mexico, “Jalisco” came from our herd. We have won countless championships and “Tecoman” considered to be the top championship holder in the history of Brahman cattle in Mexico, came from our herd. Tecoman had the potency to pass his superior traits to his progeny, which are now contributing to breeding programs all over Mexico, Central and South America.

We always have up-and-coming grey registered Brahman heifers and bulls available for private treaty sales at the ranch. All animals sold by the ranch are guaranteed to be fertile, and much of the ranch business is based on repeat orders from satisfied customers.

Our goal is to produce high quality seedstock to fit the needs of the beef industry. Sires used in our own herd have always been of above average weight gain. Our cattle can be defined as modern, rustic, precocious and with gentle disposition. Using modern technology, high quality genetics, and proven ranching traditions, we are excited to enter our seventh decade of beef production.

For you, the North American Brahman breeder, our sale represents a fantastic opportunity to acquire genetic lines not available for you in the USA with a much lower cost than what you would expect to pay back home. All of our cattle comply with all Mexican and USA sanitary regulations and we are export certified.

And there is much more besides Brahmán cattle…(please browse through our sale catalog). Quarter Horses, Appaloosa, Paint, Thoroughbred and Miniature horses, F-1 cattle, sheep, goats, llamas, even donkeys! But most importantly this is a way to establish new business acquaintances, making friends in the process. Our sale is a fiesta among friends like none you have ever attended.

The ranch is located in Mexico, south of the Harlingen / Brownsville Texas area, and roads and highways from the US to our ranch are safe, secure and well maintained. You can either take an easy and scenic five hour drive, or fly from Houston to Tampico, and we will take care of your transportation needs from there to our ranch. Accommodations in the area are the same you would expect from any US city. From five star resorts on the beach to a Holiday Inn, there are options for all budgets.

We look forward to meeting you! In the meanwhile, please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or comments.

Sincerely,

abejorwr02
